At Mir Italia, innovation isn't new—it’s tradition!

 

Nearly five years ago, in 2020, we introduced in the portfolio our very first freeze-dried starter culture specifically crafted for plant-based milk alternatives, including soy, nut, and cereal-based varieties - MIR PLB.

 

Developed from select strains of Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus, it quickly became a benchmark for quality and reliability in plant-based yogurt, fermented milk, and cheese production.

 

To support clean fermentation and protect against heterofermentative flora, at the same time we launched BIOPRO VLC, a specialized Lactobacillus rhamnosus strain that delivers outstanding results in plant-based dairy processes.

 

We're thrilled to see the worldwide growth of plant-based dairy—but we also keep reminding our community that we've been here since the beginning, laying the foundation!
